We built the tool we needed to run our own delivery.
Goalz.Work comes out of Carmatec, a software services company that spent years running projects across four disconnected systems and reconciling them by hand. Everything in the product is a fix for something that actually broke.
The monthly report that took a week.
Every month, someone on our delivery team exported sprint data from the project tool, headcount from the HR system, leave from a third place, and hours from timesheets, then spent the better part of a week assembling a picture that leadership could act on. By the time it was ready, it described a month that had already ended.
The individual tools were fine. The problem was that none of them shared a definition of an employee, a project or an hour, so every question that crossed a boundary became manual work. Productivity was the worst of it: a number nobody could reproduce and nobody trusted, argued about in review meetings.
We built Goalz to put those five things on one data model — delivery, people, leave, access and productivity — so the report writes itself and the number can be explained down to a single ticket. Then we made it light enough that nobody needed training to use it, because the previous attempts had failed on adoption rather than features.
Four principles that decide what we build.
Backed by a services business, not a lab.
Goalz.Work is a product of Carmatec, which has been building software for clients since long before this platform existed. That matters for two reasons: we are our own first customer, and we are not going to disappear when a funding round does not close.
A small team, close to the work.
Placeholder cards — send names, roles and headshots and we will drop them in.
Come see whether it fits how you work.
Thirty minutes, your own sprint, no slideware. If it is not right for you we will say so on the call.
