Goalz vs Zoho: one platform, or several products you assemble?

Zoho Projects and Zoho People are strong, mature products. They are also separate products. This page sets out where that distinction matters for a services firm and where it does not.

Should you choose Goalz or Zoho?

Choose Zoho if you already run the Zoho ecosystem, need deep CRM or accounting alongside HR, or want the lowest possible per-user price for HR alone. Choose Goalz if you run a services business and need project delivery, HR, leave, access and productivity measurement on one data model, without integrating separate products or maintaining a reconciliation spreadsheet.

The short version

Who each one is actually for.

Choose Goalz if
You run a software or services business where billable delivery and people data have to agree
You need productivity measurement that an employee can be shown and can challenge
You want one subscription, one login and one permission model rather than several
You want the rollout done in a week without a consultant or an implementation fee
Approved hours, not logged hours, is the number your margin depends on
Choose Zoho if
You already run Zoho CRM, Books or Desk and value staying in one vendor ecosystem
You need deep CRM, accounting or recruitment alongside HR
HR alone is the requirement and per-user price is the deciding factor
You have an internal admin or partner who will happily configure and maintain it
Your project management needs are generic rather than services-delivery specific

What you get, and what you have to assemble

Zoho is shown as the combination a services firm typically buys: Zoho Projects plus Zoho People, which is two subscriptions and two admin surfaces.

Being straight with you

Where Zoho is the better answer.

We would rather you buy the right thing than churn in six months. If any of these describe you, Zoho probably wins and we will say so on the call.

You are already deep in Zoho
If CRM, Books and Desk are running on Zoho, adding Zoho People keeps billing, SSO and support in one place. That operational simplicity is worth real money.
You need CRM or accounting
Goalz does not do either and has no plans to. Zoho does both well, and forcing two vendors where one would do is rarely the right call.
HR is the only requirement
If you have no need for delivery measurement, Zoho People at $1.25 to $4.50 per user is hard to beat on price alone.
You need recruitment or payroll built in
Zoho Recruit and Zoho Payroll are mature products in the same family. Goalz covers neither today.
You want a very large partner network
Zoho has implementation partners in most markets. We are a smaller team and support you directly, which some buyers prefer and others do not.

FAQ

Questions people ask when comparing

For a services firm, yes. Goalz replaces the combination of a project tool and an HR product with one platform covering projects, HR, leave, access control and productivity scoring. It does not replace Zoho CRM or Zoho Books, so if you need CRM or accounting you would keep those.

See both side by side on your own data.
